Bill Haley
The Father of Rock ‘n’ Roll.
As frontman for Bill Haley & His Comets, Haley successfully blended country and western, swing, and rhythm and blues to create an entirely new sound the world would come to know as rock and roll.
Reaching the pinnacles of commercial and critical success, Haley enjoyed nine Top 20 singles and sold millions of records worldwide, with hits including “(We're Gonna) Rock Around The Clock,” “Shake, Rattle and Roll,” “See You Later, Alligator,” and many others.
With his unmistakable vocal styling and ‘kiss curl’ hairstyle, Haley paved the way for generations of stars. Formal recognition of his impact arrived posthumously in 1987 when he was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, cementing his legacy as a true music icon.
